Highlights on the Way
Day 1: Chengdu Arrival
Arrive in Chengdu. Please go to the hotel we booked for you on your own. The hotel will be located in downtown center so you can take your time to hang around and explore the city by yourselves. Time permitting, please don’t forget to try the famous hotpot!
Day 2: Chengdu-Kangding
In the morning we drive to Kangding. Upon arrival we go to visit Mugecuo Nature Reserve, as one of the highest lakes in west sichuan-3700 KM, trails of the lake also have “red sea”, “7 color lake” and so on, together with hot spring and well-preserved forest and river, make Mugecuo a must-see nature reserve in west Sichuan. In the late afternoon we can take a leisure walk around at Kangding Town.
Day 3: Kangding-Tagong
In the morning after breakfast, we drive towards Tagong Monastery via Zheduo Mountain. Tagong Monastery has a history of more than one thousand years, is a one holy place for worship by the Tibetan. It is built right at the heart of the town during Qing Dynasty to consecrated the replica of the scared statue of Sakyamuni at Jokhang Temple in Lhasa along with scriptures of the Sakya Buddhist sect and other cultural relics more than 1000 years old. A major three-day Buddha event is held at the end of June every year at the Monastery, travelers can participate in temple activities, including meditation and daily circumambulation. After that we can take a soft hike at the beautiful Tagong Grassland. Tagong Grassland is a vast expanse of meadow covering an area of 712.37 square kilometers and located at 3900m in elevation. These beautiful grasslands are home to Tibetan nomads grazing their herds of yaks and living in traditional black yak wool tents. Under the blue sky, the yaks flocks in the vast prairie wide. With the magnificent Golden Padoga and captivating grasslands, Mount Yala presents spectacular views for you to admire.
Day 4: Tagong-Danba
In the morning we will visit the Moshi Park first. It is China’s only plateau stone forest landscape. It has a mylonite forest formed by crushing, grinding and shearing of rocks in the fracture zone of the part of Xianshui River in Daofu County during the neotectonic movement in the Quaternary period. Affected by the air humidity, the color of the mylonite forest would change according to the weather. During the wet season, the stone forest turns dark black. Such a metamorphic stone forest is extremely rare in the world. Because of its unique geological structure, the mylonite forest in Moshi Park is referred to as “China’s geological Bermuda” by experts and scholars. Later. proceed to Danba, glorified as the most beautiful village and the natural geologic museum in China is located in the west of Sichuan, with unique scenery of high-peaked mountains, overlapping peaks, deep canyons and so on. Then we continue to visit Jiaju Tibetan Village. It is one of the most beautiful village in China, has been listed the No1 most beautiful village in China by National Geography since 2005, The Tibetan village in Danba are famous for the very unique building with white color wall and paintings of sun, moon, stars and Buddhism symbols, and all these surrounded by beautiful mountain and river, shows a harmonious combination of human and nature.
Day 5: Danba-Rilong
In the morning we drive to Rilong. Mountain Siguniang (Four Girls Mountain) is a group of four perennially snow-covered peaks and has a well-protected natural environment with flourishing wild-life. Its peaks, canyons, clouds, and creeks are all marvels to the senses and they enthrall enthusiastic visitors. Then we visit Changping Valley. Changping Valley is not only a beautiful natural landscape, but also a rare ancient battlefield. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, the Qing Imperial Court made two conquests to Jinchuan County and fought here. The remains are rare to see, but the swords and guns at that time remains in the imagination. The Tibetan villages are dotted in the Valley with Guozhuang Platform for annual sacrifice of Holy Mountain- Siguniang Mountain and Lamaseries. Changping Valley is attractive for its vast sky gently over the valley.
Day 6: Rilong-Chengdu
In the morning we drive to Shuangqiao Valley. Shuangqiao Valley is famous for snow peaks, pastures, grasslands and forests. It got its name from two wooden bridges in the ditch. We can experience the real pastoral scenery. Then we drive back to Chengdu. Check in the hotel we reserved for you. Tour ends.
