Highlights on the Way
Day 1: Chengdu-Chuanzhusi (350km, 6-7 hrs)
Early morning, meet at designated point in Chengdu and drive to Chuanzhusi. It shall be shall be 6-7 hours driving. Chuanzhusi is small town with an elevation of 2980 meters (9777 feet), Chuanzhusi Town or Chuanzhu Si is a peaceful, exotic town with a mix of Tibetan culture, beautiful natural scenery, ancient city, and convenient modern facilities. You can experience authentic Tibetan foods, architectures, temples. music, dance after you arrive.
The pick-up location is normally Jinke Road North Metro Station Exit D. We will update again 1 day in advance just in case there is any change.
During winter, we will stay in Songpan Town instead as the hotel in Chuanzhusi will close.
Day 2: Chuanzhusi-Huanglong-Jiuzhaigou
After a good breakfast, we will drive 25km to Huanglong Park. Huanglong Valley has one of three most outstanding travertine lake terraces in the world. Colorful pools, snowcapped mountains, verdant forests, and a peaceful valley are Huanglong’s four highlights.
To save your energy and time, you can take a cable car to the valley top (cost not included), and then walk down the valley to enjoy the fantastic scenery all around you. This sightseeing will take about 3-4 hours to complete. Or you can hike along the valley by walking, hike up and walk down, which takes about 5 hours. It’s recommended for you to pack some lunch and water for this tour. There is no restaurant in the park.
After sightseeing, we will drive to the hotel in Jiuzhaigou for overnight stay. It is about 105km, 2-hour driving.
The cable car in Huanglong park will stop operating in winter depending on the weather.
Day 3: Jiuzhaigou Full Day (no car service today)
In order to have more time in the park and avoid the crowd, you are suggested to start early to discover Jiuzhaigou (‘Nine Village Valley’) Scenic Area, a wonderland named for its nine Tibetan villages. The hotel is within walking distance to the entrance so please don’t worry.
You will visit Jiuzhaigou’s three main valleys: Shuzheng Valley, Rize Valley, and Zechawa Valley. There, waiting for your appreciation, is the picturesque natural scenery of clear alpine lakes, overlapping waterfalls, colorful forests, snowcapped mountains, and blue ice.
Private vehicles are not allowed inside, so you will take the shuttle buses in the scenic area and touring around. A buffet lunch can be arranged in Nuorilang Restaurant (cost not included), which is the only restaurant in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. But we would recommend to pack some lunch with you.
Day 4: Jiuzhaigou Departure
After breakfast, at about 8 a.m. you will take the bus going back to Chengdu drop-off location and end up the service. You may reach Chengdu at about 17:30. But due to traffic jam or traffic control, it’s suggested to book next day flight/train just in case.
The drop-off location would normally be Yipintianxia Metro Station, Exit F. The exact time and place will be informed 1 day in advance.
